An early fraternal Christmas gift – unwrap immediately!

December 19, 2018

Sometimes we get so wrapped up in the politics and policies related to fraternal tax exemptions and solvency issues that we forget what sets us apart from every other financial services organization in North America. And that, of course, is our commitment to improving the quality of life in communities across the country and, increasingly, around the world. Over the past few months, members have sent me a variety of examples of their outreach efforts. In today’s post, I’m sharing three very different ones with you as an early Christmas gift. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

This will be my last post of 2018. All efforts now are focused on making the transition to the new association management company operating model as smooth as possible for all involved, but mostly for you, the members – large, medium, and small – who are the heart and soul of the Alliance. It is a bittersweet holiday, as many Alliance staff members who have served you and the organization with honor and nobility for many years will be leaving us. They are the best of the best. I am deeply sorry to see them go and take only a small bit of solace in the knowledge that they have been treated with dignity and fairness as they embark on their next career move, or in two cases, their retirement. They have earned it.

The Alliance is on solid ground with a strong Board and an ambitious strategic plan for 2019 and beyond. The new operating model will help make the organization sustainable for years to come and promises to enhance our ability to effectively advocate on your behalf, and provide you the invaluable education, information, and networking services you’ve come to expect from the Alliance. Much more information on all this will be coming to you in a series of Bulletins over the next few weeks. As always, please feel free to contact me at jannotti@fraternalalliance.org or (847) 525-7792 with any questions or concerns.

In the meantime, enjoy these small gifts and accept our best wishes for a joyous Christmas and a peaceful New Year.
