OAK BROOK, IL, September 20, 2018 – The American Fraternal Alliance announces that Timothy L. (Tim) Kuzma was installed as Chair of its Board of Directors at the 2018 Annual Meeting, September 7, in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

“The Alliance and its member societies congratulate Tim on his election to serve as Chair of the Board,” said Alliance President and CEO Joseph J. Annotti. “The Alliance has had a long history of strong leadership and Tim will be a key player in our efforts to move the Alliance and the fraternal benefit system forward with innovation and strategic thinking. The Alliance and its Board of Directors are dedicated to providing our members with the tools they need to thrive as modern and financially sound fraternal benefit societies.”

As Chair of the Alliance Board, Kuzma leads the Alliance’s Board of Directors, provides oversight and counsel for Alliance staff, leads policymaking decisions and represents the fraternal benefit system at both insurance industry and fraternal gatherings throughout the United States. On behalf of the Alliance, he represents 59 member societies with nearly eight million members. Kuzma received his bachelor’s degree in journalism from Point Park College, now Point Park University, in 1983. Beginning in 1985, he served as editor of Sokol Polski, the official publication of the Polish Falcons, a Pittsburgh-based fraternal benefit society, and as the organization's national first vice president and secretary/treasurer. He was elected President of the group in 2008. He's a past president of the Fraternal Societies of Greater Pittsburgh and currently serves as treasurer. In 2010, Polish President Bronsilaw Komorowski presented Kuzma with the prestigious Order of Merit from the Polish Republic for contributions to Polish culture and causes in the United States.
